The 2018 Lexus LS has 3 recalls, the most serious being a fuel pump that can fail while driving, stalling the engine without warning and raising the risk of a crash.
Two other recalls affect this model. On vehicles equipped with the Executive Package, internal interference within the front passenger seat assembly can confuse the passenger seat sensor, causing it to misread whether someone is sitting there. In a crash, that misreading can result in the airbag deploying with the wrong force or not deploying at all, raising the risk of injury to the passenger. On the tire side, this recall affects vehicles fitted with run-flat tires: the process used to mount those tires onto their wheels may have cracked the internal sidewall reinforcement layer, which can eventually cause the tread to peel away from the tire. Tread separation at speed significantly disrupts handling and stability.
