The 2019 Lexus LS has 4 recalls, the most serious being a fuel pump that can fail and stall the engine while driving, and a brake booster pump that can fail and cause loss of braking assist along with deactivation of stability control.
Both fuel-related and brake issues represent independent crash risks. The fuel pump defect can cut engine power without warning, while the brake booster failure reduces the force amplification that makes normal braking possible and can disable the stability control system that helps the driver maintain control during hard braking or slippery conditions. There is also a safety equipment concern limited to vehicles fitted with the Executive Package: the front passenger seat may have been assembled with interference between internal components that causes the passenger seat sensor to misread who or what is sitting there, potentially causing the airbag to deploy incorrectly in a crash.
