The 2024 Lexus LX has 3 recalls, the most serious being two drivetrain issues: a transmission fault that can allow the vehicle to roll unexpectedly when in neutral, and an engine defect where internal debris can cause the main bearings to fail, stalling the engine and cutting drive power.

The transmission concern means the vehicle can move on its own without warning if left in neutral with the brakes released, raising the risk of a collision or striking a bystander. The engine issue affects vehicles equipped with the V35A engine, where contamination left over from the manufacturing process can wear down the main bearings until the engine seizes or stalls, leaving the driver without power at an unpredictable moment. There is also a safety equipment concern: the front passenger seat frame may sit too close to its stopper, which can confuse the passenger seat occupancy sensor into misreading who or what is in the seat. In a crash, that misreading can cause the passenger airbag to deploy incorrectly, either firing when it should not or failing to deploy with the right force, raising the risk of injury to whoever is sitting there.
