The 2009 Lexus LX570 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving an accelerator pedal that can become trapped by a floor mat and stick wide open, making the vehicle difficult to slow or stop.
The remaining recalls both involve the front airbag system. A wire harness connected to the seat belt tension sensor can break over time, causing the front passenger airbag, knee airbag, and passenger seat-mounted side airbag to deactivate silently. If that happens, those airbags will not deploy in a crash, leaving the front passenger without that protection. Separately, certain vehicles may have been fitted with an incorrect driver or front passenger airbag that does not deploy as intended in a crash, which also raises the risk of injury. Both airbag issues affect the same general area of the vehicle and together mean the occupant protection system on this model warrants a close look.
