The 2013 Lexus LX570 has two recalls, both involving the front airbag system: one where an incorrectly installed airbag may not deploy in a crash, and one where a breaking wire harness can disable the passenger-side airbags entirely.
In the first issue, certain vehicles were built with the wrong driver or front passenger airbag, meaning the bag may not inflate as designed when needed. In the second, the seatbelt tension sensor wire harness can break over time, which shuts off the front passenger airbag, knee airbag, and seat-mounted side airbag, leaving the passenger with reduced protection in a collision.
