The 2024 Lexus NX has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the driver's airbag, which can fail to deploy in a crash due to a faulty clockspring connection in the steering column.
A prior repair attempt for the clockspring issue did not fully resolve the problem for some vehicles, so this defect is covered by two separate campaigns. On the visibility side, two recalls cover the rearview camera: on vehicles equipped with the Panoramic View Monitor system, the camera image can freeze or go blank when reversing, and a separate software issue can prevent the rearview image from appearing at all when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. Both conditions leave the driver without a view of what is directly behind the vehicle. The fifth recall involves the front head restraints, which can be pulled out of the seat without pressing the release button; a head restraint that comes off unexpectedly and is not put back in place reduces protection in a rear-end collision.
