The 2018 Nissan Titan has 5 recalls, the most serious being a tire defect and an alternator wiring issue that can each cause a crash: certain Continental tires may fail suddenly, and damaged wiring near the engine can short out, stall the engine, or start a fire.
The tire recall affects vehicles equipped with specific Continental tires where the sidewall can crack or the tread and belts can separate, causing sudden loss of air pressure and potential loss of control. On the electrical side, the alternator wiring harness may have been pinched or damaged during engine installation, and the resulting short can cut engine power without warning or ignite a fire under the hood. There is also a backup camera concern: on certain trims, the rearview camera image may fail to appear when reversing, leaving the driver with no view behind the vehicle. A labeling issue rounds out the list, where some trucks had accessories installed that reduced load capacity without a corresponding label update, which can lead to unknowing overloading of the vehicle.
