The 2011 Porsche Panamera Turbo has 6 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk from water leaking into the air conditioning blower control unit, which can short circuit, melt, or ignite whether the car is running or parked.
Two other recalls also carry fire or rollaway risk. A separate electrical short in certain vehicles raises the risk of fire. There is also a transmission recall where, if the driver exits without selecting Park and without applying the parking brake, the car can roll away unexpectedly. On the engine side, the turbocharger turbine wheel can fail, causing a noticeable drop in performance, and if driving continues, the turbine shaft can fracture as well. Loose camshaft controllers inside the engine can cause a stall while driving. Finally, a headlight recall affecting a wide range of Porsche models includes the Panamera: the headlights may be improperly aimed, either leaving the road poorly lit or creating glare for oncoming drivers.
