The 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo has 7 recalls, the most serious being a high-voltage battery defect where internal short circuits can develop within the battery modules and create a fire risk.
A separate charging-related recall covers a fire risk when using a standard 220V/240V household outlet at the 100% charge setting: some home outlets cannot handle the required current, causing the outlet or charging cable to overheat. On the structural side, certain vehicles may have incomplete body welds from a production error, meaning the body shell may not absorb crash energy as designed and occupant protection in a collision can be reduced. There is also an instrument cluster issue where the seatbelt warning light and audible chime fail to activate when a passenger is unbelted, leaving that occupant without a reminder to buckle up.
