The 2023 Porsche Taycan Turbo has 3 recalls, the two most serious both involving the high-voltage battery, which can develop electrical arcing or short-circuit internally and raise the risk of a vehicle fire.
Both battery issues point to the same danger from different failure paths: liquid can work its way into the battery pack and cause arcing, and the battery can also short-circuit on its own, in either case potentially leading to fire. The third recall concerns the compact home charging cable. When the vehicle is set to charge at 100 percent using a 220V or 240V household outlet, some home outlets cannot handle the current the system draws, causing the outlet or the charging cable itself to overheat and creating a fire risk at the point where the car plugs into the wall.
