The 2011 Triumph Tiger 800 has 4 recalls, the most serious involving an optional accessory center stand whose return spring can break and cause the stand to drop and drag along the road while riding, creating a significant crash risk.
On bikes fitted with the optional top box, a missing clip in the locking mechanism can allow the box to detach while underway and strike other vehicles. There is also an engine concern: on certain models, the engine can stall during deceleration, cutting propulsion unexpectedly and leaving the rider to manage the situation in whatever traffic conditions are present.
