The 2020 Zero SR/S has two recalls, both stemming from the same issue: the front brake switch can fail when water gets inside it, leaving the brake light dark when only the front brake is applied.
Following riders may not realize the motorcycle is slowing down, raising the risk of a rear-end collision. On models equipped with cruise control, a failed front brake switch also means applying the front brake may not cancel the cruise control setting. Applying the rear brake will still illuminate the brake light and cancel cruise control, but riders should be aware the front brake alone may not trigger either function until the switch is replaced.
