Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2009-2013 Forester vehicles, 2008-2011 Impreza vehicles, 2008-2014 WRX vehicles, 2005-2014 Legacy vehicles, 2005-2014 Outback vehicles and 2006-2008 Tribeca vehicles equipped with a mechanical key ignition switch installed as a replacement part. The ball spring inside the switch may break, reducing the strength of the ignition switch. If this occurs, the weight on the key ring and certain road conditions could cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine.
Safety Risk
The engine turning off unexpectedly can increase the risk of a crash. If a crash occurs under this condition, the air bag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the ignition switch, replacing the ignition switch, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began May 10, 2019. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614. Subaru's number for this recall is WUF-91.

On certain motorcycles, the fuel sending unit wiring may have been routed incorrectly during vehicle assembly. As a result, the electrical wiring may contact the exhaust and become damaged. An electrical short would cause the fuel pump to stop functioning and the engine to stall. If the engine stops while the motorcycle is being driven, it would increase the risk of a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the fuel sending unit wiring and reposition if necessary.

On certain vehicles, a pin socket in one of the wiring harness joint connectors may have been damaged during the manufacturing process. This could result in the illumination of the instrument cluster's indicator lamps, inability to remove the vehicle's shifter from the park position, or a reduction of steering assist. This would unexpectedly increase the steering effort force necessary to steer the vehicle at lower vehicle speeds, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Note: All vehicles have been inspected and repaired at distribution centers prior to being shipped to dealers.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.

On certain vehicles, the generic electronic module (GEM) may experience a condition referred to as "lock-up" in which the GEM controlled functions (front windshield wipers, interior lights, 4X4 system etc.) could not be turned ON or, in some cases if the function in ON, it could not be turned OFF. During this lock-up condition, these functions remain in their last known operating mode and do not respond to driver commands until electrical power is interrupted to the GEM. An inoperative front windshield wiper system could adversely affect driver visibility.
Safety Risk
