On certain vehicles, the bracket that covers the fuel hose connector is normally secured with a nut and bolt, however during assembly the nut was omitted. In the event of a crash, the bracket may become loose which could result in damage to the fuel hose connector. A damaged connector could lead to a fuel leak and increases the risk of fire causing property damages and personal injuries.

SUBSQUENTLY, THE CHAMBER COULD SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE IF THE CHAMBER PUSH ROD CLEVIS WERE TO SEPARATE FROM THE SLACK ADJUSTER AND THE AIR HOSE FITTINGS AT THE CHAMBER WERE TO FRACTURE. On certain Cutaway vans, the transmission may self-engage into first gear while the vehicle is traveling at highway speeds, thereby causing transmission damage to certain gears. Should this occur at speeds beyond 130 km/h, the engine may shut down (and be able to be restarted with limited operating capability). However, in some cases, the transmission will no longer function in any gear. This could cause the vehicle to lose propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash.

Certain vehicles may be equipped with a 4-pin accessory trailer wiring harness kit that could fail. Over time, this could result in a short circuit that can cause the control module to overheat.
Note: This recall only affects Hyundai Genuine 4-pin tow hitch wiring harness kits with the part number S2F67-AC401. These kits may have been ordered at the time of a vehicle purchase or purchased separately from a dealer as an aftermarket accessory.

Remedy
Hyundai will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the vehicle for a trailer wiring harness kit. If necessary, the dealer will install a 15A fuse and a wire extension kit. Hyundai advises that if your vehicle has a tow hitch harness installed, you should park it outdoors, and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed.
