On certain motorcycles, the voltage regulator can overheat, causing uncontrolled current output which can provide insufficient charge to the battery. This can cause engine stalling and/or an inability to start the engine. Engine stalling would result in lost vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road condition, and the rider's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the voltage regulator.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE AN IGNITION LOCK ASSEMBLY WITH IMPROPERLY SEATED KEY CYLINDER CAP CONNECTOR PINS. VIBRATION CAN CAUSE THE CONNECTING PINS TO LOOSEN AND/OR FALL OUT ALLOWING THE KEY CYLINDER CAP TO DISENGAGE FROM THE KEY CYLINDER.
Safety Risk
IF THIS OCCURS, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK ROD CAN MOVE, WHICH COULD LOCK THE STEERING WHEEL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE IGNITION LOCK ASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLIES WITH LOOSE OR MISSING END CAP CONNECTOR PINS WILL BE REPLACED. A RING CLIP WILL BE INSTALLED ON ALL OTHERS TO PREVENT LOOSENING OF THE PINS.
On certain motorcycles, electrical components within the right hand switch cube may develop corrosion over time. This could result in an electrical short in the cube that may lead to the motorcycle starting without user input. If the key fob is stored on or near the motorcycle and all other safety interlocks are met, the vehicle could start while unattended. If the vehicle were to start while unattended in a closed area, the risk of exposure to carbon monoxide would be increased, potentially resulting in injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the existing right hand switch cube with an updated cube that eliminates the potential for corrosion.

On certain motorcycles, electrical system performance could be affected by a weak connection at the crank case, corrosion at the ignition switch due to exposure to corrosive liquids, and/or improper routing causing wiring to wear against the fuel tank. These issues could potentially result in engine stalling and a loss of motive power, inability to shut off the engine with the ignition key, or short circuits potentially resulting in a fire. An increased risk of injury and/or damage to property could result.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will relocate the crankcase ground wire, inspect the ignition switch wiring and wiring harness in proximity to the fuel tank for corrosion and/or abrasion damage, and repair as necessary. Dealers will also add shielding and abrasion resistant material to protect the wiring.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015 Jeep Renegade vehicles manufactured September 18, 2014, to June 25, 2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with radios that have software vulnerabilities that can allow third-party access to certain networked vehicle control systems.
Safety Risk
Exploitation of the software vulnerability may result in unauthorized remote modification and control of certain vehicle systems, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Chrysler will notify and mail affected owners a USB drive that includes a software update that eliminates the vulnerability, free of charge. Optionally, owners may download the update to their own USB drive from http://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/ or take their vehicle to a Chrysler dealer for immediate installation. In an effort to mitigate the effects of this security vulnerability, Chrysler has had the wireless service provider close the open cellular connection to the vehicle that provided unauthorized access to the vehicle network. This measure may not have been implemented on all vehicles and does not address access by other means that will be remedied by the software update. The recall began on September 30, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R45.
On certain vehicles, the ground stud that retains the negative battery terminal eyelet to the engine block may be loose. A loose battery ground wire may produce high resistance to current flow. As a result, current may take an alternate path to ground through the radio suppression strap causing it to heat and potentially melt or ignite adjacent components.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the engine ground stud. The radio suppression strap and adjacent components will be inspected for damage, and if necessary, replaced.
