On certain recreational vehicles (RVs) and camper van conversions, moisture could cause a rear wheel speed sensor to fail. If this happens, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control unit may not work properly.
Note: A malfunction of the ESP control unit can cause the ESP or ABS warning lights to turn on, and a "workshop assistance" message could appear in the instrument cluster.
Safety Risk
A stability control system that does not work properly could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the rear wheel speed sensors with an improved part.

On certain vehicles, a defect in the ignition switch could allow the switch to move out of the "run" position if the key ring is carrying added weight or the vehicle goes off-road or is subjected to some other jarring event. The timing of the key movement out of the “run” position, relative to the activation of the sensing algorithm of the crash event, may result in the airbags not deploying, increasing the risk of injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the ignition switch.

On certain trucks or chassis-cabs equipped with a 6.7 L Cummins diesel engine, the intake air heater relay could short circuit. This could happen even when the vehicle is parked and the ignition switch is in the off position.
Note: Trucks repaired under recall 2021-138 will also require this repair.
Safety Risk
A short circuit could create a fire risk.
Remedy
FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect and replace the intake air heater relay, as necessary. FCA recommends that you should park your vehicle outside and away from other vehicles or buildings until the recall repairs are completed.

On certain pickup trucks, the electrical connector at the bottom of the steering column may contain an under-sized terminal in the Heater Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) blower motor circuit. Localized heating from current flow with the blower speed set on high may cause the terminal contacts to relax and lose contact. This can cause the HVAC blower motor to become inoperative.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealer will install an approved wiring harness.

On certain vehicles, water could enter and cause corrosion to the wiring connectors in the rear liftgate wiring harness and the liftgate-opening switches. This could cause an unintended activation and opening of the rear liftgate door, potentially resulting in a loss of unrestrained cargo. Lost cargo may create a hazard for other road users, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install additional sealing protection to the rear liftgage wiring connectors and switches to prevent water intrusion.
