A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off.
Remedy
To reduce the safety risk, Volvo advises that you should set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 70% and that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. The clutch pressure plate bearing may break due to an insufficient load rating, causing the clutch to not disengage and preventing the transmission from shifting properly.

If the clutch cannot be disengaged, the rider may not be easily able to stop the motorcycle, increasing the risk of a crash.

If this occurs, parts of the inflator could also separate from the vehicle structure, entering the interior of the vehicle. Should this occur when occupants are in the vehicle, unintended airbag deployment could startle the driver, and airbag inflator parts could come into contact with the occupants, increasing the risk of injury and a crash.
