The 2017 Audi A4 Allroad has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the airbag and seatbelt pretensioner system, where frontal and head airbags may not deploy properly in a crash, leaving occupants without full protection.
Two additional recalls also affect the passenger airbag. In one, a mounting screw on the passenger airbag module may not have been tightened enough, which can cause the bag to deploy incorrectly. In the other, corrosion on the passenger occupant detection system's connecting cable can cause the software to mistakenly disable the passenger airbag entirely. On the interior trim side, aluminum speaker trim on the front and rear doors can work loose and expose sharp edges that can cut occupants. There is also a lighting concern: a software update may have inadvertently disabled the side marker lights, making the vehicle harder to see at night when the parking lights or headlights are on.
