2017 BMW K1600B Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2017 BMW K1600B has two recalls, both carrying serious crash risk: a transmission defect that can cause the rear wheel to lock up, and a rear suspension link that can break and allow the bike to drop onto the rear wheel. On the transmission side, certain internal parts can allow two gears to engage at the same time or cause transmission components to fail, either of which can lock the rear wheel without warning. The suspension concern involves the link strut connecting the rear suspension to the frame, which can fracture and cause the chassis to drop suddenly into the rear wheel, resulting in an abrupt loss of stability or steering control.
