On M40i trims, engine management software can cause a loss of brake assist during startup, leaving the driver with full but unassisted braking that requires significantly more pedal effort. Two rearview camera recalls round out the list: one where the camera image can go missing or be significantly reduced while reversing, and a separate issue where a small portion of the image may be slightly obscured. Both affect the driver's ability to see clearly behind the vehicle when backing up.
