The 2021 BMW X6 has 7 recalls, the most serious involving certain Pirelli tires that can rapidly lose pressure while driving and a steering column shaft joint that can work loose, both of which reduce vehicle control and raise the risk of a crash.
On the mechanical and electrical side, a brake system fault can disable anti-lock brakes and reduce braking assistance, making stops longer and less predictable. There is also an electrical resistance issue in the 12-volt battery circuit that can increase the risk of fire. The rearview camera on certain vehicles can display a missing or reduced image while reversing, which raises the risk of a collision if the driver is relying on that view alone. Two lower-severity issues round out the list: the sunroof can close on its own without the key fob inside the vehicle, and the headlamps may emit a blue light that can confuse oncoming drivers.
