The 2019 BMW X6 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving wheel bolts that can loosen and break, and rear upper control arm bolts that can fracture, both of which can cause sudden loss of vehicle control.
The wheel bolt issue means one or more wheels may work loose while driving. The rear suspension concern involves pivot bolts in the upper control arms that can snap, destabilizing the rear of the vehicle, and prior repair attempts did not fully resolve this issue across all affected vehicles. On the child safety side, the lower anchor bars used to secure ISOFIX-style rigid child seats can degrade over time, reducing their ability to hold a child restraint securely in a crash. There is also a rearview camera recall affecting a wide range of BMW models including the X6, where the backup camera image may fail to appear when reversing, removing the driver's view of what is directly behind the vehicle.
