The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette has 5 recalls, with the most serious concerns spanning the parking brake, airbag, suspension, and restraint systems, any of which can increase crash risk or reduce protection in a collision.
The parking brake may only engage on one rear wheel rather than both, which can allow the car to roll on a steep incline. The driver's airbag back plate can fracture during deployment, causing the airbag to pull away from the steering wheel and leave the driver without proper cushioning in a crash. On the suspension side, a rear toe link ball joint can loosen over time and eventually separate, reducing stability and steering control while driving. Two related recalls cover the front airbags and seatbelt pretensioners: a wiring issue can prevent them from firing in a crash, leaving the driver and front passenger without the restraint protection those systems are designed to provide.
