The 2015 Ford E-350 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving aftermarket foldaway seats that can unlock during a crash or sudden stop, leaving occupants without proper support and raising the risk of injury.
Both seat recalls affect vehicles that were modified after leaving the factory: in one case the seat back may not stay locked under load, and in the other the seat back can move in a crash. These are separate modifier programs, but the real-world risk is the same. There is also a recall affecting E-350 units converted into ambulances: a backup camera monitor can display a mirrored or incorrect image, causing the driver to steer the wrong way when reversing and increasing the chance of a collision.
