The 2016 Ford E-350 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a trailer brake controller that can fail to activate the trailer's brakes when slowing down, extending stopping distances and raising the risk of a crash while towing.
Only vehicles with the 6.8L engine and the optional trailer brake controller are affected by that issue. On the occupant safety side, certain vehicles modified with Freedman GO-ES Foldaway Seat back cushions may have a seat back that does not stay locked under load, meaning it can shift during a sudden stop or crash and leave the occupant without proper support. There is also a recall affecting E-350 ambulances converted by VCI Emergency Vehicle Specialists, where a backup camera monitor can display a mirrored image, causing the driver to steer the wrong direction when reversing.
