The 2023 Genesis GV70 Electrified has 3 recalls, the most serious being a charging control unit that can fail and cut drive power while the vehicle is in motion, raising the risk of a crash.
The charging unit issue involves a component that keeps the 12-volt battery topped up while the car is running. When it fails, the 12-volt system loses charge, and the vehicle can lose drive power unexpectedly. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why two separate remedy campaigns address the same underlying failure, one through a hardware approach and one through a software update.
The third recall involves a software error that can cause the instrument panel display to go blank, taking the speedometer, warning lights, and other critical readouts with it. Driving without that information makes it harder to respond to developing problems or monitor vehicle speed accurately.
