The 2020 Harley-Davidson FLHCS ANV has 2 recalls, both involving the rear shock absorber assembly, where a fastener or mounting tab can break and allow the shock adjuster to contact and damage the rear tire, causing a sudden loss of tire pressure and raising the risk of losing control.
In both cases, the failure point is in the rear suspension hardware securing the shock pre-load adjuster. If that hardware breaks, the adjuster can shift into the tire, puncturing or deflating it while the motorcycle is in motion. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why separate recall campaigns address the same underlying problem.
