The 2022 Harley-Davidson FLHCS ANV has 2 recalls, both involving the rear shock absorber assembly, where a broken fastener or mounting tab can allow the shock adjuster to contact and damage the rear tire, causing a sudden loss of tire pressure and raising the risk of losing control.
In both cases, the failure point is on the rear shock pre-load adjuster: one recall involves a fastener that can break free, and the other involves the adjuster's mounting tab cracking. Either way, the adjuster can shift into contact with the rear tire, puncturing or deflating it while riding. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why two separate campaigns address what is essentially the same hazard.
