The 2017 Harley-Davidson FLHTCU has 3 recalls, the most serious involving an oil cooler line that can detach and spill engine oil onto the rear tire, sharply raising the risk of losing traction and crashing.
A clutch recall also carries serious consequences: the clutch can fail to disengage, leaving the rider unable to separate the engine from the transmission, which can cause a loss of control. The third recall affects certain models fitted with a Detachable Tour-Pak Luggage Conversion Kit, where the rear red reflectors are missing, making the motorcycle harder for other drivers to see from behind.
