The 2022 Harley-Davidson FXLRST has 3 recalls, the most serious being two separate issues that can each cause a sudden loss of control: a rear shock absorber fastener or mounting tab that can break and puncture the rear tire, and front brake lines that can rub against the fuel tank and leak, causing front brake failure.
The rear shock absorber concern appears in two related filings describing the same outcome: a broken fastener or adjuster tab allows the shock absorber component to contact and damage the rear tire, leading to rapid pressure loss while riding. The brake line issue is specific to this model and certain related Softail trims, where the routing of the front brake line puts it in contact with the fuel tank, wearing through the line over time and reducing or eliminating front braking ability.
