The 2023 Harley-Davidson FXLRST has 3 recalls, the most serious being two separate rear shock absorber issues where broken fasteners or a broken mounting tab on the shock pre-load adjuster can damage the rear tire and cause a sudden loss of tire pressure, raising the risk of losing control.
The rear shock absorber concern appears in two related filings, but both describe the same outcome: a failed component allows the shock adjuster to contact and puncture or wear into the rear tire, deflating it while riding. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue across all affected model years. The third recall covers the front brake lines, which can rub against the fuel tank and wear through, leading to brake fluid leaking out and a partial or complete loss of front braking power.
