The 2023 Harley-Davidson FXLRST has 3 recalls, the most serious being two separate issues that can each cause a sudden loss of vehicle control: a rear shock absorber fastener or mounting tab that can break and allow the adjuster to damage the rear tire and deflate it, and front brake lines that can rub against the fuel tank, wear through, and leak brake fluid until the front brake stops working.
Both rear suspension issues result in the same outcome: the shock absorber adjuster contacts the tire, causes rapid pressure loss, and leaves the rider with reduced stability and control. The brake line concern is separate, with the routing of the front brake lines placing them in contact with the fuel tank under certain conditions, gradually wearing the line until braking ability at the front wheel is lost.
