The 2003 Infiniti FX45 has 7 recalls, the most serious being a passenger-side frontal airbag inflator that can rupture during deployment and send metal fragments into the cabin, potentially causing serious injury or death.
Multiple filings cover this same Takata-style inflator defect, including a separate campaign targeting vehicles that have spent time in high-humidity regions like Florida, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, where moisture exposure increases the rupture risk. On the fuel side, the filler hose can crack from ozone exposure and leak fuel during refueling, which raises the risk of a fire near an ignition source. The brake system also has a concern: front brake caliper mounting bolts may not be torqued adequately, allowing the upper bolt to work loose and fall out, which lets the caliper rotate and grind against the inside of the wheel, producing noise and vibration and reducing braking effectiveness. One recall covers a lighting compliance issue where the headlamp beam gradient does not meet Canadian safety standards.
