The 2020 Isuzu NPR HD has 5 recalls, the most serious involving rear wheel lug nuts that can loosen and allow a wheel to detach while driving, and rear axle U-bolt nuts that can loosen and cause the driveshaft to separate, cutting power to the rear wheels.
Two recalls affect Crew Cab models equipped with the 6.6L gasoline engine. In those trucks, the positive battery cable may run too close to the exhaust pipe, where heat can wear through the insulation and cause a short circuit or fire. Separately, the chassis wiring harness on those same Crew Cab models can chafe against the coolant return hose, potentially causing coolant to leak onto wiring and triggering a stall, electrical short, or fire. On the occupant safety side, certain trucks equipped with a dual-mode belt locking mechanism may not properly restrain an occupant in a crash.
