The 2019 Isuzu NPR HD has 5 recalls, the most serious being two chassis-level issues: rear outer lug nuts that can loosen and allow a wheel to detach, and rear axle U-bolt nuts that can loosen and cause the driveshaft to separate, cutting power to the rear wheels.
On the brake and restraint side, a brake light switch and its retainer can work loose from the pedal bracket, causing the brake lights to stay on even when the pedal is not pressed and potentially disabling the shift interlock. Certain gas-engine models equipped with a dual-mode belt locking mechanism may have front seatbelts that fail to properly restrain an occupant in a crash. The least severe recall involves the instrument cluster displaying the odometer reading in kilometers instead of miles, which could cause an owner to miss scheduled maintenance intervals.
