The 2012 Kawasaki Concours 14 has 5 recalls, the most serious affecting police-configured models where added accessories can cause fuel leaks, reduced braking ability, or engine stall. These police-package issues are covered across multiple filings, but the core problem is the same: police wiring harnesses can chafe and short out the 30-amp main fuse, cutting power to the engine and stalling the motorcycle in traffic. All of these police-package recalls apply only to motorcycles modified for law enforcement use.
For all Concours 14 models, there is a separate structural concern: a gap between the rear brake pedal and its guard can trap small stones or debris, creating brake drag that causes the rear brake to overheat and either lock up or fail entirely. On ZG1400C models, the front brakes can be affected as well.
