The 2008 Kia Sedona has 5 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk: moisture can get into the anti-lock brake module and cause an electrical short that may start an engine compartment fire even when the vehicle is parked and off.
The front lower control arms can corrode in high-salt regions and break, causing sudden loss of steering control. There is also a hood latch concern where the secondary latch can stick in the open position, meaning a bump or accidental release of the primary latch could cause the hood to fly up while driving and block the driver's view. On the electrical side, the brake light switch can fail, which means the brake lights may not illuminate when stopping and cruise control may not disengage when the brake pedal is pressed.
