The 2008 Kia Sedona has 5 recalls, the most serious being front lower control arms that can break and cause sudden loss of steering and directional control, raising the risk of a crash. Moisture can enter the anti-lock brake module and cause an electrical short that may start an engine compartment fire, even when the vehicle is parked and turned off. The hood secondary latch can bind and stay unlatched when the hood is closed, meaning if the primary latch releases while driving, the hood can fly open and block the driver's view. There is also a brake light switch that can fail, leaving the brake lights dark when the driver slows down and potentially preventing cruise control from disengaging, which reduces warning to following traffic during braking.
