The 2011 Mitsubishi RVR has 5 recalls, the most serious being a panoramic glass roof that can detach entirely from the vehicle while driving, becoming a hazard to other vehicles, bystanders, or nearby property.
On the braking side, a defect in the brake booster can prevent the brake pedal from returning to its normal resting position after being pressed, leaving the driver with unexpected pedal behavior that raises the risk of a crash. The rear liftgate support struts, which hold the tailgate open while loading cargo, can corrode from the inside out due to salt and water penetration, potentially causing the struts to lose their ability to hold the liftgate open or fail structurally.
Two recalls cover the front wiper system, where water draining from the windshield cowl area can reach components below. In one case, water repeatedly contacting the wiper linkage ball joint can cause the joint to corrode or wear until it separates, which would cause the wipers to stop moving across the windshield. In the other, water can collect near the wiper motor's breathing hole and enter the motor when it is not running, potentially damaging it and leaving the driver without wipers in wet conditions.
