The 2011 Mitsubishi RVR has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the panoramic glass roof, which can detach completely from the vehicle and strike other vehicles, objects, or bystanders.
On the braking side, a defect in the brake booster can prevent the pedal from returning to its normal position after being pressed, leaving the driver with an unexpected change in pedal feel and a higher risk of a crash. There is also a structural concern: the rear liftgate support struts can corrode from the inside out due to salt and water penetration, which can weaken the struts that hold the tailgate open. Two related recalls cover the windshield wiper system, where water draining from the cowl area can collect in the wiper motor and cause it to fail, or corrode and wear the wiper linkage ball joint to the point where it separates and the wipers stop sweeping.
