On the glass and airbag side, the front windshield and rear window may not be properly bonded and can detach. Because the windshield acts as a backstop for the front airbags when they inflate, a loose windshield can cause those airbags to deploy in the wrong direction. A related issue affects the dashboard console, which can crack or break during a crash where the passenger airbag fires, again causing the airbag to deploy improperly and reduce its protection. The third recall involves the rear seat belt buckles, where the mounting bolts may not have been tightened fully, leaving the buckle unable to hold an occupant in place during a crash.
