The 2010 Suzuki Kizashi has 9 recalls, the most serious being multiple fuel tank issues where blockages in the evaporative canister vent line can cause the tank to crack and leak fuel, raising the risk of a fire.
There is also a transmission concern: the shift selector can be moved out of Park without pressing the brake pedal, which can allow the vehicle to roll unexpectedly. On the occupant safety side, the front passenger seat's occupant classification sensor can misread who is in the seat in two directions. If the leather seat shrinks from heat and humidity, the sensor may not suppress the airbag for a child in the front seat, causing it to deploy when it should not. Conversely, certain seating positions can cause the sensor to classify an adult as a child and deactivate the airbag entirely, leaving the passenger unprotected in a crash. A small storage compartment door on the center lower dashboard can also swing open in a crash and strike an occupant.
