The 2016 Triumph Street Twin has 3 recalls, the most serious being a fuel leak from damaged wiring inside the fuel tank that can drip onto hot or sparking components and start a fire.

The remaining two recalls both involve the clutch cable rubbing against the main wiring harness. When the cable contacts and wears through the harness, it can cut power to the headlight or turn signals, or shut the engine off without warning while riding. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve this issue, as the problem was addressed in an earlier campaign and again in a broader follow-up covering the Street Twin along with several other Bonneville-family models. In either case, the real-world result is the same: a rider can lose lighting needed to be seen by other traffic, or experience a sudden stall in the middle of a ride.
