The 2024 Zero DSR/X has 4 recalls, the most serious being a front brake hose that can become damaged and leak fluid, reducing brake pressure and significantly extending stopping distances.
Recalls 1, 2, and 3 all describe the same underlying brake hose issue: the front brake hose may not be correctly installed, leaving it twisted or misrouted in a way that damages it over time. As the hose degrades, brake fluid leaks out and pressure drops, meaning the front brake loses stopping force when the rider squeezes the lever. The fourth recall covers the electrical system, where key switch signal wires that are not properly routed can flex and break over time. When those wires fail, the motorcycle loses drive power without warning, which can leave a rider unable to accelerate out of a hazardous situation or create an unexpected deceleration mid-ride.
