Certain vehicles may experience a malfunction of the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system, which could apply a small amount of brake force for a fraction of a second, even if the brake pedal has not been depressed. If the driver applies the brakes during a malfunction, the VSA system may employ the brake assist feature, which would increase braking force, exceeding the driver’s intended input. In either instance, an unexpected and unnecessary brake application could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install a partial wiring harness containing a capacitor for the VSA modulator.

On certain sedan models, a defect in the electronic stability control (ESC) yaw sensor could cause cause the ESC light in the instrument panel to illuminate as well as cause unwarranted activation of the stability control system. This could result in reduced engine power and brake application on one or more wheels, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will verify proper operation of the yaw sensor and update vehicle software.

Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the headlamps to flicker.
Safety Risk
Headlamps that flicker could cause reduced visibility and could create a distraction for oncoming drivers. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace a module in the headlamp that includes the correct software.

A DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHT RELAY CAN CAUSE THE HEADLAMPS TO FAIL TO SWITCH FROM LOW TO HIGH BEAM WHEN THE CONTROL SWITCH IS OPERATED. ALSO THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE HEADLIGHTS MAY SHUT OFF.
On certain vehicles with Electro-Hydraulic Power Assist Steering (EHPAS), rust had formed inside the high-pressure pipe on the power steering system during manufacturing due to improper processing. Rust particles may detach from the pipe walls and enter the motorized power steering pump, causing damage to the pump bearings. As a result, gear lubrication may be reduced, leading to an increased load on the motor. Should this happen, there is the potential for the power steering system to enter the fail safe mode in order to prevent overheating, resulting in the power steering warning lamp to light and the motorized pump to stop which could lead to a loss of power assist and the required steering effort will increase.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will flush the power steering system and repair as necessary.

On certain vehicles, the factory-installed Continental ContiTrac tires may experience uneven wear, vibration, or, particularly under condition of overloading or under inflation in high ambient temperatures, separation between the belt edges, which could lead to tread detachment. Tire failure could cause the driver to lose vehicle control, which may result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace affected tires.

On certain motorcycles, the motor rotor may contact the stator at sustained maximum motor RPM. Should this occur during motorcycle operation, rear wheel lockup could result, increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will conduct a stationary screening test of affected motors and replace if necessary. In the interim, owners are advised to keep motor RPM below 5 000 RPM - This equates to 136 km/h for the SR model, and 127 km/h on the S model.
On certain vehicles, a mounting stud used to secure the airbag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) to the vehicle may have been incorrectly positioned during the assembly process. This could stress the SDM housing and cause it to fracture which could potentially allow water to enter the SDM and cause it to malfunction. If the SDM does not perform as intended, it could increase the risk of occupant injury in the event of a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will send the affected vehicles to a repair facility which will relocate the mounting stud and replace the SDM.

Certain Heavy Duty and Police/Special Service vehicles may not have been repaired properly under Recall 2016-053 (GM #20760). The brake pedal pivot nut may become loose, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative. If this happens, a driver may be unable to safely stop the vehicle or the brake pedal may interfere with the accelerator pedal. Both of these situations could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will add adhesive to the pivot nut and will reinstall it at an increased torque.

On certain vehicles, the passenger airbag disabled indicator may not be properly secured to the instrument panel and could become loose. As a result, you might not be aware if the passenger-front airbag is on or off.
Safety Risk
A passenger airbag disabled indicator that can't be seen could cause confusion. This could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install clips to secure the passenger airbag disabled indicator to the instrument panel.

On certain vehicles, the second and third-row seats may not detect an obstruction when the power folding functions are used, including when using the automatic power folding (stow) or the one-touch tilt-and-slide (walk-in) features. If this happens, the seat(s) may not stop moving even if there's an obstruction.
Safety Risk
A seat that doesn't stop moving could increase the risk of injury.
Remedy
To reduce the safety risk, Hyundai advises you to ensure the seats are empty before using any power folding function and not to use the one-touch tilt-and-slide (walk-in) feature when entering or exiting the third-row seats. Hyundai will notify owners in writing. As an interim repair, Hyundai is developing and plans to send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the power seat control software. Alternatively, you will be able to schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Hyundai dealership. The final corrective actions for the recall are under development.

On certain vehicles equipped with Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE), the high-pressure hydraulic pipe that runs from the ACE pump to the ACE valve block could fracture at its union with the pump. This will result in a loss of hydraulic fluid. A low fluid level can subsequently result in system pump failure which will throw off the auxiliary drive belt, resulting in a loss of engine auxiliary functions (power steering assist, water pump, alternator, and air conditioning). In extreme circumstances, there is a possibility that the hydraulic fluid could ignite, resulting in an engine compartment fire.
Safety Risk

Remedy
Dealers will install new hydraulic tubing.

On certain trucks, the wiring for the steering column squib may be too short. As a result, the wiring could be damaged or separate if the steering column is fully extended. If this happens, the steering column may not collapse properly in a crash. A damaged wiring harness can cause the airbag warning light to turn on.
Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with a power-adjustable, telescoping steering column.
Safety Risk
A steering column that does not collapse properly in a crash could increase the risk of injury.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the length of the steering column squib wiring harness. If the wiring harness is too short, the dealer will lengthen it.
