WITH VEHICLE USAGE, THE BOLTS ATTACHING THE FRONT AXLE TRACK BAR BRACKET TO THE FRONT CROSS-MEMBER MAY LOOSEN. THIS MAY CAUSE FRONT END SHIMMY. WITH CONTINUED USE, THE SHIMMY MAY BECOME SEVERE AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STEERING LINKAGE OR STEERING GEAR. A POTENTIAL FOR LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL MAY BE PRESENT.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
IMPROVED TRACK BAR TO CROSS-MEMBER BRACKETS AND INCREASED DIAMETER BOLTS WILL BE INSTALLED. ADDITIONALLY, VEHICLES WITH FRONT END SHIMMY WILL HAVE CERTAIN STEERING COMPONENTS REPLACED AND WILL BE INSPECTED FOR DAMAGE TO SUSPENSION COMPONENTS.

On certain vehicles, the intake air ducts, which are connected to the intermediate resonator in the air intake system of the engine, may separate from the resonator with engine movement. This separation occurs due to the premature ageing of the material used in the intake air ducts which causes excessive shrinking. If the air duct pulls off the resonator, the airflow meter will not accurately measure the intake airflow rate, which could result in unstable idling, poor acceleration, or engine stalling. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the intake air duct with an updated version.

WHEELS MAY CONTAIN FORMING CRACKS IN THE RAISED PORTION OF THE WHEEL CENTRE (SPIDER) BETWEEN THE LUG HOLES AND THE ATTACHMENT TO THE RIM. SEVERE DUTY MAY CAUSE THE CRACKS TO PROPOGATE AND RESULT IN EVENTUAL SEPARATION OF THE WHEEL RIM FROM THE WHEEL CENTRE. THIS COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL AND A CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
WHEELS WILL BE REPLACED WITH A REVISED DESIGN WHEEL.

ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A DRIVER SIDE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG, THE CENTRE POST THREADS OF THE AIR BAG MODULE MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED DURING ASSEMBLY. IN A DEPLOYMENT LEVEL COLLISION, THE CENTRE POST HOUSING MAY SEPARATE FROM THE AIR BAG ADAPTER CAUSING THE AIR BAG NOT TO INFLATE PROPERLY. IN ADDITION, HOT COMBUSTION GASES WOULD FLOW DIRECTLY THROUGH THE AIR BAG RATHER THAN THROUGH THE NORMAL FILTERING AND COOLING DEVICES, PRESENTING THE POSSIBILITY OF BURN INJURY TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
AIR BAG MODULES WILL BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF NECESSARY.

On certain vehicles, the left front transverse link components were produced with poor electro-deposition coating quality which, after continued exposure to corrosive road salts for a period of several years, may result in rust-out of the component and possible breakage of the transverse link. If such a breakage occurs while the vehicle is being operated, control of the vehicle could be affected.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealer will rust-proof the left side transverse link with anti-rust wax.

On certain vehicles, the push nuts and/or the lifter link which adjusts the height of the driver seat could be of insufficient strength and could become broken or detach from the seat frame. If this occurs, the seat height and inclination position would change rapidly, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the condition of the driver's seat lifter link. If no cracks are detected, a reinforcement bracket will be added to the lifter links, and the number of push nuts will be increased to two per seat lifter link. If any cracks are detected, dealers will replace the entire seat adjuster unit with a modified part.

On certain vehicles, the rear wheel alignment was not checked during recall 42L1 (Transport Canada Recall 2021-249). As a result, the steering could pull to one side or another and the tires could wear unevenly. If you continue to drive the vehicle in this condition, there may be reduced traction. Eventually, a tire could fail and lose air pressure.
Safety Risk
A tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment, as necessary. Additionally, the dealer will inspect the rear tires for premature and uneven wear due to this issue, and replace them if necessary.
