On certain vehicles, an electrical short could occur in the steering wheel wiring harness, which could result in an inadvertent deployment of the driver frontal airbag. Unintended airbag deployment, in a non-warranted (non-impact) situation, could startle the driver, which could result in a vehicle crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. In some instances, inadvertent deployment could cause minor injuries to vehicle occupants.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the steering wheel wiring and replace it as necessary. A protective covering will also be installed on the wiring harness.

On certain Impreza wagon, the liftgate stay damper bolts may not have received adequate tightening torque during vehicle assembly. After repeated rear gate operations, loose stud bolts can cause the welded nuts to fail, allowing the liftgate to drop suddenly, and placing anyone underneath or near the gate at risk of personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and repair as necessary.

On certain vehicles, When driven at highway speed in extremely low temperatures, without engine warm up, condensed moisture from a Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) port may seep toward the brake vacuum port inside the intake manifold and start to freeze. If accumulated ice plugs the port, vacuum assist to the brakes will be lost and the increased brake pedal pressure required could lead to an increase in stopping distance.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Vacuum port will be repaired by removing the clearance at the top of the separator between the brake vacuum port and the PCV expansion room of the intake manifold.

On certain motorcycles the clips that retain the wiring for the front fender tip light to the fender can become detached from the fender causing the wires to fray and short. This could cause the lighting system fuse to blow, leaving the vehicle without an operational front fender tip light, headlight, taillight, running lights, and passing lamps (if equipped).
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy

On certain vehicles equipped with 5.7L engines and dual exhaust, the vehicle may have been built with a missing spare tire passenger side tire heat shield. This could allow thermal damage to the spare tire to occur. If a damaged spare tire were to be used, rapid air loss due to tread separation or side wall rupture could occur, potentially resulting in a loss of vehicle control, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect for the presence of a passenger side spare tire heat shield. If the passenger side spare tire heat shield is not present, a heat shield will be installed.

THERE ARE TWO DEFECTS IN THIS RECALL. (1) THE OUTER PROTECTIVE COVERING OF THE REAR BRAKE HOSE CONNECTING THE THE REAR BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER TO THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER COULD CONTACT THE BOLT RETAINING THE RIGHT HAND PASSENGER FOOTPEG, CAUSING ABRASION OF THE OUTER COVERING. THIS COULD LEAD TO BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE AND LOSS OF REAR BRAKES. (2) THE FUEL HOSE CONNECTING THE GAS TANK FUEL COCK TO THE CARBURETORS COULD CONTACT THE FRONT OF THE #2 CARBURETOR CAUSING POSSIBLE ABRASION AND ULTIMATE FUEL LEAKAGE.
On certain trucks, the oversteer guidance feature may not work properly. As a result, in an oversteer situation, the oversteer guidance could cause the steering wheel to turn from side to side by itself. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control.
Safety Risk

AN UNUSED HARNESS CONNECTOR FOR VEHICLE ACCESSORIES MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY ROUTED UNDER THE FLOOR CARPET IN THE LEFT KICK PANEL. SALT, WATER OR SNOW CARRIED INTO THE VEHICLE BY THE DRIVER'S SHOES MAY PENETRATE THE CARPET AND REPEATEDLY DRIP ONTO THE CONNECTOR. THIS COULD RESULT IN THE FORMATION OF AN ICE BRIDGE BETWEEN THE TERMINALS, POSSIBLY CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL SHORT INSIDE THE CONNECTOR. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR, THE CONNECTOR COULD HEAT UP, CREATING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE FIRE.
