Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (Kawasaki) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Ninja ZX-6R motorcycles. The motorcycles may lose engine power during operation due to seizure of a metal crankshaft bushing.
An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.
Owners are advised not to ride their motorcycles until the repair has been completed. The #5 metal crankshaft bushing must be inspected on all eligible units already in operation. If there is no abnormality with or damage to the bushing, the bolts holding the crankshaft together in the crank case must be re-tightened with proper torque. If there is any abnormality with or damage to the bushing, the parts must be replaced and the crankshaft properly tightened, or the engine must be otherwise repaired or replaced. THE OIL DELIVERY PIPE BETWEEN THE OIL TANK AND AUTOLUBE OIL INJECTION PUMP IS ONE INCH TOO LONG. THE PIPE CAN POSSIBLY BE KINKED DURING PRE-DELIVERY SET UP RESTRICTING OIL FLOW TO THE ENGINE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN PISTON SEIZURE. THIS COULD CAUSE THE REAR WHEEL TO LOCK UNTIL THE OPERATOR DISENGAGES THE CLUTCH.

This could also cause a build-up of coolant in the insulation for the catalytic converter. Lotus is recalling certain model year 2007-2008 Elise and Exige vehicles manufactured from December 1, 2006, through October 31, 2007. The oil cooler line may become detached from its fitting.
A detached oil line could spray oil on a tire, increasing the risk of a crash, or it could spray oil throughout the engine compartment increasing the risk of a fire.

On certain vehicles, the intake air ducts, which are connected to the intermediate resonator in the air intake system of the engine, may separate from the resonator with engine movement. This separation occurs due to the premature ageing of the material used in the intake air ducts which causes excessive shrinking. If the air duct pulls off the resonator, the airflow meter will not accurately measure the intake airflow rate, which could result in unstable idling, poor acceleration, or engine stalling. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash.

Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Optima Hybrid and Optima Plug-In Hybrid vehicles. The connecting rod bearings inside the engine may wear prematurely, which can result in engine damage.

Dealers will inspect the engine. If bearing damage is found, the engine will be replaced. Dealers will also install a software update containing a Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS). On certain Escape Hybrid (HEV) models, the engine crankshaft may not have been manufactured correctly. As a result, the connecting rod bearings may wear and cause a knocking noise. If you continue to drive the vehicle with this symptom, the engine could fail and/or a fire could occur. An engine failure can cause a sudden loss of power with an inability to restart.

Certain vehicles equipped with 2.7 liter V-6 engines. Improperly manufactured crankshaft position sensors (cps) were installed. The CPS cases were improperly manufactured and did not meet dimensional specifications. Internal gaps within the cases allowed epoxy to contact the printed circuit board, which resulted in cracking of the printed circuit board capacitor. A damaged CPS capacitor could result in engine stalling.
