The malfunctioning air bag control unit may cause the air bags to unexpectedly deploy increasing the risk of injury and the possibility of a vehicle crash. Alternatively, the air bag control unit malfunction may cause the air bags to not deploy in the event of a crash necessitating air bag deployment, increasing the risk of occupant injury.

On certain HD vehicles equipped with a diesel engine and dual fuel tanks, the fuel pipe tube nuts on each side of the diesel fuel transfer pump may not have been properly torqued. As a result, diesel fuel may leak at the fuel transfer pump if there is fuel in the rear tank and the transfer pump activates to transfer fuel to the forward fuel tank. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or injury.

On certain vehciles, bolts which fix the big end bearing caps onto the engine connecting rod may not have been torqued to the correct specification and could loosen. This would result in unusual knocking noises from the engine compartment. If the vehicle was to be operated in this condition, the engine could seize and stall, causing a loss of motive power as well as a loss of power steering and power brake assist. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
