On certain vehicles, the front wheel bearing retaining rings might not have been seated correctly and may extend from the steering knuckles. This could cause the retaining rings to potentially move out of position, which could result in the wheel bearing moving in its pressed position while the brake disk is held by the brake caliper. In the event of a failure, a wheel could separate, which could affect vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will check the retaining ring position and correct their position if necessary.

THE FRONT WHEEL INSTALLED ON THESE VEHICLES WAS IMPROPERLY MANUFACTURED. THESE DEFECTIVE WHEELS MAY DEVELOP CRACKS WHERE THE SPOKES JOIN THE CENTER HUB PORTION OF THE WHEEL. RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE OVER ROUGH PAVEMENT ON BUMPS, HARD APPLICATION OF THE FRONT BRAKES, OR HEAVY LOADING OF THE MOTORCYCLE COULD ACCELERATE THE FORMATION OF THE CRACKS. THE DEFECTIVE WHEELS CAN EVENTUALLY FRACTURE, WHICH COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND CRASH.
On certain vehicles, wiring harness connector could corrode due to exposure to snow/water containing road salt. This could result in an electrical short causing damage to the connector and increasing the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will add a waterproof seal, inspect the harness connector and replace as necessary.

THE BALL SOCKETS ON THE CRUISE CONTROL LINKAGE CAN BREAK, ALLOWING THE CRUISE CONTROL LINKAGE TO BECOME DETACHED ON ONE END AND JAM ON NEARBY COMPONENTS, WHICH COULD IMPAIR THROTTLE PLATE OPERATION.
Safety Risk
IMPAIRED THROTTLE PLATE OPERATION COULD PREVENT THEENGINE FROM RETURNING TO IDLE, RESULTING IN UNWANTED ENGINE SPEED AND POSSIBLEVEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy
REPLACE THE CURRENT PLASTIC BALL SOCKETS WITH A NEW LINKAGE USING STEEL BALL SOCKETS, AND LUBRICATE THE CRUISE CONTROL RELAY LEVER. OWNERS ARE ADVISED NOT TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL UNTIL THE MODIFICATION IS INSTALLED.

WITH THE ENGINE ON, HEAT FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER MAY MELT THE POWER STEERING HOSE.
Safety Risk
POWER STEERING FLUID COULD FLOW ONTO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, AND AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE COULD OCCUR.
Remedy

Certain trucks equipped with an automatic transmission could experience a sudden transmission failure. This would result in a loss of vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver’s reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
VEHICLES BUILT WITHOUT THE AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM MAY BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER ENTRY AT THE WINDSHIELD COWL ABOVE THE HEATER BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR BLOCK. MOISTURE CORROSION OF THE RESISTOR TERMINALS COULD CAUSE AN INCREASE IN ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE WHICH COULD CAUSE OVERHEATING AND POSSIBLY RESULT IN A COWL AREA FIRE.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR BLOCK WILL BE REPLACED AND A MASTIC PATCH WILL BE APPLIED TO SEAL THE COWL AGAINST WATER ENTRY. ALREADY DAMAGED WIRING CONNECTORS WILL ALSO BE REPLACED AS REQUIRED.
