On certain vehicles, a defect in the Occupant Restraint Control (ORC) system could result in unwanted side curtain and seat airbag deployment in off-road events. Unintended airbag deployment, in a non-warranted (non-impact) situation, could startle the driver, which could result in a vehicle crash causing injury and/or property damage.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will update ORC module software.

On certain vehicles, a defect in the supplemental restraint system could result in an inadvertent deployment of the front airbag(s) and/or seatbelt pretensioner(s). Unintended seatbelt pretensioner and/or airbag deployment, in a non-warranted (non-impact) situation, could startle the driver, which could result in a vehicle crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. In some instances, inadvertent deployment could cause minor injuries to vehicle occupants.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install an in-line jumper wiring harness to correct the issue.

On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function.
Safety Risk
If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury.
Remedy
Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a Tesla service center to have the passenger-front airbag inflator replaced.
Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.

On certain vehicles, the diffuser may come off the inflator for the passenger air bag during deployment due to improper welding. Under these conditions, expanded gas cannot be supplied to the bag and may not deploy during a frontal crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the passenger side airbag with a correct one.

On certain vehicles, the Passenger Sensing System (PSS) will turn OFF the right side roof-rail airbag, in some crashes, if the PSS senses the right front seat is not occupied. This differs from the information detailed in the owner's manual. Although the vehicle meets prescribed Standards for side impact protection, failure of the right side roof-rail airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injuries to the right rear seat occupant.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will reprogram the Sensing and Diagnostic Module

On certain vehicles, the driver's (frontal) airbag inflator was built with an incorrect part which could cause the inflator to rupture during a deployment. In a crash, this may cause airbag components to separate, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the driver's (frontal) airbag.
This recall applies to vehicles that may be equipped with a replacement sport or M-sport steering wheel that has a Takata airbag. Long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the driver-front airbag.
Remedy
BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the driver-front airbag module.

On certain vehicles, the front impact sensor bolts were not torqued properly during vehicle assembly. If the bolts loosen or fall out, the sensor may fail to properly detect a crash, possibly resulting in delayed or non-deployment of the front airbags. Note: All affected vehicles were in dealer inventory and were inspected and repaired as part of the initial investigation.

On certain vehicles, the passenger-front airbag may catch the cover panel when it inflates. If this happens, the airbag could tear and may not inflate properly.
Safety Risk
An airbag that doesn't inflate properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Jaguar will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger-front airbag module.

On certain vehicles, the driver-front airbag may not have been manufactured properly. Over time, moisture could enter the inflator and cause it not to inflate properly in a crash.
Safety Risk
An airbag that doesn't inflate properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver-front airbag.
On certain vehicles, a defect in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) could result in an inadvertent deployment of the front airbag, side curtain airbag and/or seatbelt pretensioner.
Safety Risk

Remedy
Dealers will replace the SRS control unit and may install an in-line jumper wiring harness to correct the issue.

Certain vehicles serviced as part of recall 2014-093 or which had the Occupant Classification System (OCS) module replaced during servicing may have been fitted with an incorrect replacement OCS module. An incorrect OCS module would impair the effectiveness of the OCS, potentially failing to properly classify an adult passenger seated in the front passenger seat. This could increase the risk of injury to the occupant in a crash.
On certain vehicles, in cases where a weak battery exists, it is possible that a low voltage condition could cause the airbag control unit to improperly set a fault code. If this occurs, the passenger-side frontal airbag will become deactivated and would not deploy during a frontal crash. As a result, a passenger-seat occupant could receive more severe injuries.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will update the airbag control module software.
