On certain vehicles, the bolts that attach the rear suspension module to the subframe may be loose or missing. As a result, vehicle stability and rear impact crash performance could be reduced.
Safety Risk
Reduced stability could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Reduced rear crash performance could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the rear suspension module bolts. The bolts will be tightened or replaced, as necessary.
On certain vehicles, the protective coating on the rear suspension toe links may chip away. If this happens, the metal can rust and the toe link could break. A broken toe link can affect vehicle stability and could cause a loss of directional control.
Note: This recall only affects vehicles that were originally sold or ever registered in areas of heavy road salt usage (Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador).

On certain vehicles, there may not be enough space between the rear coil spring and the rear toe link bracket. As a result, the protective coating on the coil spring could wear away. If this happens, over time, the spring could fracture. A spring that breaks could fall from the vehicle.
Safety Risk
A broken coil spring could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the clearance between the rear toe link bracket and the coil spring. If necessary, the toe link bracket edge will be trimmed and a new coil spring will be installed.

On certain trucks, the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) for rear drive axles exceeds the load rating of the wheel hubs. This could cause the hubs to fail prematurely. If this happens, a wheel could separate from the truck.
Safety Risk
A wheel separation could increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that detaches from a vehicle could also create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people.
Remedy
Volvo will notify owners by mail and provide them with a new compliance label that has a lower GAWR.
On certain vehicles, the shock absorbers may wear out prematurely due to a manufacturing defect. Worn out shock absorbers may affect vehicle handling and stability.
Note: This recall only affects vehicles with the optional electronic suspension.
Safety Risk
Poor vehicle handling and stability could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the shock absorbers.
On certain vehicles, the rear suspension toe link(s) could break. This could cause a sudden loss of vehicle stability.
Note: Vehicles previously repaired under Ford Campaign 19R01 or 19S18 do not require repair under this recall. For the Taurus model, only the SHO Performance Package model is included in this recall.
Safety Risk
A loss of vehicle stability could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to install improved rear suspension toe links.
On a small number of Jetta GLI models, one or both of the front wheel bearings could be defective. This could lead to poor driving performance and/or cause a wheel to break.
Safety Risk
A sudden change in vehicle handling or a broken wheel could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Volkswagen will contact owners by telephone and instruct you to stop driving your vehicle. Volkswagen will arrange free towing to the nearest dealership. The front wheel bearing assemblies, wheels, and wheel bolts will be replaced.
On certain vehicles, a faulty part could cause one of the mounts for rear axle carrier to detach. If this happens, the driver may notice a loud knocking sound from the rear of the vehicle. If the vehicle continues to be driven with this problem, over time the remaining mounting bolts may fail. This could cause the rear axle carrier to separate from the vehicle.
Safety Risk
A rear axle carrier separation could affect vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the mount for the rear axle carrier. If the left-front bolt connection is damaged, the vehicle will be bought back.
Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Toyota 4Runner vehicles. During installation, certain steering and suspension components may not have been properly tightened.
Safety Risk
Loose fasteners may cause a loss of vehicle control, or cause an accessory to detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy
SET will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and re-tighten the steering and suspension fasteners as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin November 19, 2019. Owners may contact SET customer service at 1-866-405-4226. SET's number for this recall is SET19B.
On certain vehicles, a buildup of dirt and mud could cause the rear suspension toe links to break. This could result in a sudden loss of vehicle stability. Note: This problem affects vehicles operated in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The unique soil properties in this region could make a toe link more likely to break.
Safety Risk
A loss of stability could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to install improved rear suspension toe links.
