On certain vehicles, the occupant classification system (OCS) may not work properly due to a software error. This could cause the airbag system to turn off the passenger-front airbag, even if an adult is seated in the front passenger seat.
Note: If this happens, an airbag system warning message will display on the instrument panel. Additionally, the passenger airbag status display will show the message "Passenger Airbag Off".

On certain vehicles, the connection points for the lower universal anchorage system (UAS), for securing a child or booster seat, may not be positioned correctly on the rear seat. Additionally, the head restraints in the rear seats may interfere with the proper installation of taller child or booster seats that have rigid lower anchor connectors.
Note: This recall affects Super Cab models equipped with rear seats that have fixed head restraints.

Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2020-2021 CX-9 vehicles equipped with 60/40 split bench second-row seats. On certain vehicles, the forward/backward slide mechanism for the left side of the second-row seat may allow the seat to slide forward in a crash.
Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 60/40 split bench type second-row seat.

The third-row headrests may have an improper weld or misaligned internal components, which can allow the headrest to move or detach.
